How would you drop the oil pan without split?

For a ad3.152? Would you leave the engine mounted to the bell housing mearly with the transmision adapter? You'd have to remove the noes cone/front axle away, then jack stand the trans...but is the trans adapter stong enough to hold the engine while you drop the pan?

Reason I'm asking is for changing the oil pan gasket.

Hello JF,
First of all I assume that you are referring to a 135 with a swept front axle. You do not need to remove the front axle to drop the sump (oil pan.) Support the tractor under the inspection plate under the clutch housing using either a screw jack or blocks so that most of the weight is removed from the front wheels. Remove the bonnet (hood). Remove the six bolts securing the axle casting to the sump and slide it forward a little if you can. Remove the short bolts along each side except for one in the centre. There are two hidden bolts at the rear of the sump and two nuts at the front. Slacken the remaining side bolts to a head gap of approx 1/8" Remove the horizontal clutch housing bolts that are through the sump not forgetting the two at the bottom. Prise the sump carefully to break the seal. Place a trolley jack under the sump and remove the retaining bolts. Lower the sump carefully taking care to avoid the oil strainer.
Clean the faces and front and rear mountings carefully. Apply some gasket cement to secure the side joints in place. The corks can be fitted with the help of a small flat screwdriver. They will be the exact length and must not be cut. Ensure that they are seated correctly. A little gasket cement at the end of the corks provides extra protection against leaks. Carefully raise the sump until there is about 3/8-1/2" gap all round. Fit a bolt in each corner and nip up squarely. Refit the axle casting etc.
If you should have a 135 with a straight axle it will be necessary to remove the axle casting completely before the sump can be dropped.

Thanks, forgot to mention 205 industrial, but same thing except for the clutch which is instant reverse.
