The A&I engine rebuild kit came with new bolt and nuts for the rod caps on my perkins ad3.152 I'm rebuilding. The old nuts do have a locking mechanism, but the new nuts from A&I don't...I can finger turn them all the way down...how important is the locking mechanism for the rod nut, or is proper torque good enough?
