leave oil in or out

After losing a hose and all hydraulic fluid from(59 m/f) front pump. Fixed hose & front works fine again but the back raised and will not go down at all. Anytime tractor is running 3pt is max'd out in up position. I'm hearing prob is a valve and I need to remove access plate to ck. Should I leave oil in? Had a guy say I could feel two rods and ck with oil in..Or take out oil to visual inspect..I'm no high level mech with lotsa experience but would like to fix myself..Any input,,,thanks

Sounds like you have 2 different problems here. If your independent pump off the pulley is back in business or not, the 3 point shouldn't be affected at all. Were you tearing at something with the hitch when the hose broke? did you bend the 'quadrant' control next to the seat? It doesn't sound too expensive, 'cause it has pressure, it just doesn't go down? no pressure is worse. Good luck.
