Lift woes

The remote hydraulics and steering work fine on our 1105, but we are having trouble with the 3pt. We have had it a couple of years and we have only used trailing implements up until now. I went to hook a set of plows to it and the lift would not go down. I talked to a service man at the dealer and he said to free up a valve in the top of the rear housing. I did that and it went down but won't work at all now. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

Behind the seat turn on the draft control wheel.
Turn it towards the raise position. This might help.
