hello, have a1135 massey with engine oil getting into the fuel filters.any ideas.it must be coming from the drive for injection pump, but why?any help is greatly appreciated, fran

I've heard of fuel getting into the engine oil, this one has me puzzled. Is oil getting in the fuel tank too? What prompted you to check the filters for oil, were they jelling in the cold? I'm trying to picture the return line, does it go from the top of the injectors to the filters? If you took the return line off at the filters? would you be able to see the oil mixture dribbling out when the engine runs? Scratching my head.......

The seals(2)at the bottom of the injection pump need to be replaced. There is full engine oil preasure in the drive area directly under the pump. The fuel lift pump pumps more fuel than the engine uses (pump lubrication) and the excess is returned back to the filter head. In your case the oil preasure is winning over the fuel preasure. This doesn't happen this way very often but cold weather usually has an effect on this. especially on start up as cold oil preasure spikes for a second or two

engine started surging.pulled plug on secondary filter.engine oil came out.removed filter secondary was pure engine oil primary was mixed.it apears to be pushing oil back through the fuel system.
