I posted a while back about our 2240 having some issues with the hydraulics - While mowing, the power steering and 3 point would stop working... Shut off everything... No leaks... Restart, all acted well. Happened twice. Tried diagnosing yesterday by just driving around a bit. Nothing happened, other than I noticed that the 3 point is not raising quite as far as it used to. It rises to perhaps about 3 inches below where I would expect.

Any thoughts on what to look for before I tear into it? The tractor has the 2 speed powershift (rebuilt 100 or so hours ago), and the independent PTO.

Thanks, Steve

3 pt not raising high enough could be as simple as an adjustment to 3pt control linkage. Where is L/D lever under seat setting? If not in "min or D" I suggest to place it there. Hyd's stop functioning could be caused from foreign material getting into stroke control valve seating area in front hyd pump. If your hyd pump has a de-stroking screw(item 4 in link) Im suggest to turn DS screw clockwise then counter clock wise while engine is operating at idle speed. How many hrs of use since hyd filter was changed & suction screen checked/cleaned? Link

Is the tractor low on trans oil? That tractor requires the trans oil checked with engine running at low idle rpm.
