Darned PTO grinds when going into gear. Seems like there should be a syncronizer or someting that has failed?

As I wrote before, adjust the PTO shift mechanism so the shift collar engages first, then the disc clutch.

''As you move the engagement lever, first a shift collar is moved into position, then an ''over center'' disc clutch is engaged.

There's several adjustments that (hopefully) make this happen in the proper sequence and it works reasonably well when all is well!

If the clutch has been abused or transmission/hydraulic oil has gotten into the ''dry'' area where the PTO clutch lives things don't work so well, as you have noticed.''

You need a shop manual for that.

The three-point hydraulics are above the ''dry'' clutch compartment and can leak down on the clutch.

A truly MARVELOUS design!

2010's are unique in every way,, the only thing that they have in common with other Deere's,,is the color..

The 2010 live/independent PTO setup is VERY unique. I don't know of any other tractor with a similar setup (but that doesn't mean they don't exist).

As you move the engagement lever, first a shift collar is moved into position, then an ''over center'' disc clutch is engaged.

There's several adjustments that (hopefully) make this happen in the proper sequence and it works reasonably well when all is well!

I had a 2010 for years. Never thought it was synchronized . Figured that's what the long lever was for just jam it in.

That pto grinding while engaging is a design flaw just part of owning a JD 2010

So, I just jam it in there? Don't remember my Dad's 2010 doing that.....
