Hello all I have a 1950 model A that i need some help identifying what pistons it has. I have always just assumed it had aluminum high compression pistons just by how it runs and sounds. Well today I got curious and pulled the top engine cover and found a set of deere pistons that I do not recognize the part number on they are A4920R. I have done some research but can't figure out what they are. Any help identifying these would be greatly appreciated. Thanks have a great day.

makes no sense what your decribing. most of them have cast pistons. and pulling the top cover does not show you the pistons. you need to pull the head or totally remove the pistons to see them. and if you could see the pistons then you would see if they are cast or aluminum.

Thank you Lynerd. I had a feeling they were from a 60 just wasn't sure had no idea they were LP pistons. I'm guessing with them being LP pistons the compression would be a little higher than stock gas. Would these have a higher compression ratio than just a standard aluminum high compression piston sold today. Anyone have any experiences with them? Thanks again

Jonathan8234 Yes they would probably be .2 to .4 CR higher on the A than M & W's. Compression on a LP 60 is 7.3:1. Gas 6.1:1. Gas A 5.5:1 and with M & W's 6.5:1. Lynn
