I m new to beans. Have a 7200 4-row planter on 30" rows and want to no-till beans this year. I was given a set of bean plate meters JD number A55413. The book only has pounds per acre and I d like to get a 160k population. Where can I find a chart for this? I read that you just multiply corn population by 12? Is it really that simple?

If using bag beans, the bag has, on its label, the number of lbs/bag and seeds/lb.
140,000 seeds in bag. The rest is all math to get to 160,000/ acre.

Right but I don t have the flow type cups that measure pounds per acre I have the bean meter so figuring pounds and converting to bu/acre doesn t seem to make sense.

Usually the operators manual should have rates. Free
download on jd publications for most ops manuals I know I
referenced mine twice today on the 1770 nt. It and the 7200
before both ran low so your gonna need to pick like 164000 if
thats what your actually shooting for. It should tell you how
many cell plate your part number is
