The rear Wheel Bearing and Oil Seal need replaced on my 1959 John Deere 430W. The Bearing is right behind the Quill at the end of the axle tube where the hub/wheel attaches to the axle. The Quill is held onto the axle tube with 4 bolts. Do I have to remove the entire Final Drive Assembly just to change the Bearing and Seal? Or can I remove the Quill and replace the Bearing/Seal assembly that way?
Any information is greatly appreciated. The service manual does not cover just a bearing replacement..

Pretty sure you'll need to take the housing off. You may be able to get the cup out, but the cone is a tight press fit on the axle shaft. The inner bearing may be bad as well.
