John deere model A oil outlet washer question

I have a 44 A just got the head back from the machine shop.. my tractor did not have a head on it when I got it. So I bought a head and tappet assembly upon dry fitting the rocker assembly I noticed the oil outlet washer is no where close to lining up with the oil inlet in the head. It is about 2 inches off. I made sure the rocker assembly and head I have are correct for my serial number. Anyone have any experience with this? Also the oil outlet washer I have has a mark on it from what looks to be a washer that used to be there but my parts manual doesn't mention anything about any washer.

All nuts on the cylinder head will have a
lead washer under the nut. They usually are
included in head gasket kits. As far as the
oil port something sounds off. The late and
mid styled a that port piece to feed the
rockers there's a difference between them
iirc. Sounds like you have confirmed that
they are correct. Maybe post a picture.

The gasket kit I bought came with copper washers. I feel stupid but I went back out there and took a closer look and noticed the oil line on the rockers has the ability to rotate. So it lines up good now..still not sure why there is a spot on the oil outlet where there used to be a washer... next question is what keeps the oil outlet washer pushed down tight to the head? It's a loose fit and seems the oil would just leak past and not make its way up to the tappet oil line

(quoted from post at 19:00:21 05/19/23) Doesn't a stud come through with a nut to tighten down? Ron MN
now that you say that. You are absolutely correct. I can't believe I missed that. Must be having an off day thanks guys

A nut the same as the rest of the cylinder
head stud nuts is also used on the oil
washer. I always put a little bit of
permatex aviation sealer between the washer
and the head before torquing the nuts. Also
iirc the stud on that washer one is a touch
longer than the rest.

ok thank you for the info. While we are on the subject what grade nuts do you guys recommend? I used the original head studs. They were in good shape.
