320 oil pump

Started working on a 56 jd 320. The nut part of this fell
off when I put wrench. Obviously it broke off. What can I
do to remove and where does it lead to. Manual shows an
adjustment for pressure.

I think that is a tapered set screw that holds the pump up in place. Try mig welding a nut to it so you can unscrew it. May take a couple of tries.

Have you tried matching an Allen wrench to the hole in the setscrew?

The parts consist of a setscrew with a special locknut that threads on to it, and a small Welch plug that seals off the exposed side of the special locknut.

Yup. Tried an allen wrench but there is nothing left to
grab on to. Tried various extractors but again its not
deep enough to get ahold of anything. What would
happen if I drilled? Probably have to retap threads.
