I am prepping my 1959 John Deere 630 for the model 48 loader I picked up a few weekends ago. This is necessitating the installation of the "custom powr-trol" that I purchased last year, to upgrade from the single remote powr-trol my tractor came with.
The paint on the custom powr-trol is badly faded and chipping. There is also a small amount of old grease/dirt that got into the custom powr-trol thru being handled while off of the tractor.
Am I OK to use brakleen to clean the custom powr-trol unit inside and out?
As far as cleaning up the old paint and rust on the exterior without contaminating the inside of the unit with abrasive dust, does anyone have suggestions on that? My intention was to use 3m roloc discs for this job, unless there s a better suggestion.
Thanks!!
