Got a 630 new to us. Been told it s a single 12 volt battery with positive ground. Goes under the seat not sure if they all go under there or not. Wondering if it takes a specific group size battery, thanks for the help

The tractor left the factory with two six volt batteries . Today a single group 31 , 12V battery is acceptable .
Check the "ground" connections . The battery box is often corroded end of the cable . Or where the battery box bolts to the top of the rockshaft casting .

On mine, I just dropped in the biggest 12 volt that would fit in the box.
Tractor doesn't see a lot of use, so there is a chance the battery may not
get fully charged after every start....hence the capacity of the bigger
battery helps......and what b&d said....

I recently made the switch. I had two 6v batteries, that would no longer take a charge.

The salesman at the local farm store measured my old batteries and got me a single 12v that is nearly the same size as the two 6v combined. I hooked it all up and the tractor has never started better.
