John Deere 630 - Stock Exhaust Question

My 1959 630 has a straight pipe exhaust on it. I love how it sounds, and it's great for parade duty, but it's a killer on the ears when using the tractor for actual work. I always wear hearing protection if I'm using it for more than a few minutes.

I have considered picking up an aftermarket replacement of the stock muffler, in hopes that it would quiet it down. Does anyone have video of their 630 ( or 620 or 60) running with the factory style muffler?

Another consideration that I have is whether the muffler will arrest sparks better than the straight pipe. I have never seen sparks come from the exhaust, but I do occasionally pull the tractor into the barn, and that would be nice peace of mind.
Thanks!

I have an oval on my 630. It still gives you the John Deere sound but at a reasonable and pleasant level.

As others said - the oval muffler is best
and it is worth the extra cost. I have
both on different tractors and there is a
big difference in them.

Thanks guys! I had tried looking around on youtube but had trouble finding "good" videos that portrayed the sound of the oval muffler. Maybe I need to do a before and after video once I switch over 8)
