Injection pump

Are these pumps good for anything but. Leaking fuel out of every fitting possible?

This is the auto advance. Like a jdb pump. Seal can be change easily, but you need to count turns to put it back same way, or better, readjust on the engine with a transparent john deere plug that you dealer should have.
 
JD270 or Stanadyne 17180.

Personally, I think those pump last a long time. Less rebuilts than the deterioting ones. But I prefer the noise of the early pumps.
 
The only things I dont like about The pump it
always seems to have a leak somewhere and I
dont like the electric solenoid . It makes a lot of
power on the top end about 120 horsepower at 540
rpm on the dynamometer. I bought this pump new
from the dealer or Reman whatever it was cost
about 1200.00$ 20 years ago
