DLTX 10 Carb Bowl Cracked

Hello and new to the forum. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but while in the process of tightening the fuel line fitting on my DLTX 10 carb, I overtightened it and cracked the bowl (GAH!). And, of course it now leaks like a sieve and I don't have the knowledge to even begin to repair it or if it is even possible.

Anyone out there have or know where to find a carb bowl to replace this one? Google has yielded only very expensive complete carbs.

This is on a 1935 true 4-bolt B. Thanks.

The only 2 suggestions I have and Im sure you thought of
them. Have it welded or TRY to find a used one. I feel your
pain with the cost of a new one.

Thanks and have considered both those options. One of those things where I knew better to stop while I was ahead and well, you know how it goes. Since it is cast metal, would having it braised be a wise route to go...thoughts?

Thanks again.

After looking at the photo again, I would be leery of getting
it to seal with brazing or welding. Best option might be Tom.

It would be possible to groove the casting, TIG weld with nickel filler, and forget about it. The proper filler alloy will be stronger than cast 35 gray iron.

Good to know...it is definitely repairable. TIG would likely also be more.minimal in appearance too, I presume. Thanks for the tip!

Turn your fuel nipple into where the bolt that holds the cover goes. It feeds directly into the needle and seat and don't worry about the crack. No politically
correct but will work.

Thanks...I'll remember this if I ever need to do it in a pinch. Fortunately, I was able to source another bowl, so good to go for now.
