3020 hydraulics

I just bought a 67 3020 and I have questions.
Here's the story. Crankshaft was replaced and engine work done so tractor was apart for months. After reassembly and starting, no hydraulics. Tractor was put outside and abandoned.
1 After looking at info on the web, I am thinking the pump has lost it's prime. Is there any way to prime the pump or should it prime itself?
2 Are all 3020s positive grnd? This one is hooked up as neg grnd and has an alternator. The battery is bad so I hooked up a jumper battery and nothing exploded, engine cranked but no start. Not a problem right now.
Tractor is 190 miles away. Am going there later this week to try and resurrect it.

After tractor starts you need to take your foot off the clutch and let it run so the
transmission pump charges the system and front pump. You can tell when it is
operational as the steering will work and 3 point if it has one.
