4320 Air Stack Lenght

Wanted to know if there was a length recommended for the air in take stake on John Deere 4320? The muffler stack extension was removed so the tractor could be stored inside. Believe the stack will have to be cut to fit as well. I have notice some tractor without the air stack. What is the reason for removing the stack all together?

Deere parts lists a 7 inch and 19 inch for the exhaust stack, Was an option to have the air intake stack or not.

The first 4320 tractors did not have the air an air stack.. But with air cleaner problems; at a certain serial number, Deere started putting on vertical air stacks.. Length of the air stack was about nine inches taller than the muffler with a mushroom shaped cap.. A light weight metal strap ran from the muffler extension to the air stack..

Collectors prefer the non air stack as it gives it a cleaner look.It was an option on 20/30/40 series. The upright above hood aircleaner helps allow cleaner air.
