3020 Parts and pieces

Oil came today and a new valve cover gasket . Plus fifty 2 is just over 30$ a gallon . Headed to the steam cleaner here in a bit . I have one of the old style filters left never understood why they need to be in a steel can when its already in a steel can .

Lets see some photos after the steam clean.

Are you going to flush your cooling system with that product?

I asked the guy that re-cored my radiator about cleaning and he said he wouldn't do anything other than use a power washer to force water through the system and flush things out.

Hadn't heard of that before but he has been doing radiators for 47 years so maybe he would know ???

Yes going to flush never heard of this either says that it
is way stronger than automotive flush. I dont know a
lot of times I just use dawn dish soap or laundry
detergent but thought I would give this a try.

I cleaned up most of the right side of the Engine with solvent and a brush . Valve cover was leaking oil cooler oring was leaking and the tach drive is still leaking need to get a new washer for it

That looks like a wix filter. If it came from JD ( not sure it looks like their name on the side ) they must of changed suppliers. I like those better then the paper housed ones. I pulled too many of those paper ones out that had collapsed.

I've used that Fleetgaurd stuff in a couple of Deere 13.5 engines when they ended up with oil in the cooling system. Does a pretty good job. Takes a little while to get the stuff flushed back out of the system though. Might want to pull out the thermostats and block the radiator fins with cardboard if you want best results.

Mike M, Deere switched filter suppliers for some of their filters about a year ago when parts were really hard to get. This filter along with a few others got switched to a DZ part number. Even the earlier 466 engine filters are a DZ number now

You have done a lot of work cleaning up the radiator/cooler area.

I spent 2 days getting my cooler degreased, pressure tested, and repainted. Fins were full of grease all the way through!

They sure can get messy from a small leak . My oil
cooler fins were pretty caked with grease just on
account of that slow leak on the low pressure hose .
Ive been trying to get the thing to the shop for 2
years and never could find enough time to get it
done. Tomorrow Ive got to check diff lock pressure
and see if I need to adjust that then I can start on
another tractor fixing a few leaks

I figured it was a good time to do a flush on this
tractor probably do my other two as well I know this
one hasnt been done as long as Ive had it
