My JD 730 Diesel sat for 15 years. Finally got the Pony motor rebuilt and running. Started the diesel yesterday. Made a few cycles, then stopped. Clutch lever would not move. Pulled the clutch, lots of rust, removed from tractor. Went to start the diesel. Pony will run without compression, no problem. When engaging the compression stalls the Pony, and there is a clicking sound (wonder if the Pony clutch is slipping?). No fire from the diesel.
Pony clutch adjusting screws are almost all the way in, ordered new plate. Any other suggestions? Test compression on diesel? Other disaster? As noted above sat for 15 years...
