Hello. 2010 with 720 loader and 93 hoe. I tried to put a ball valve in the line going to the hoe to shut off flow and it really loaded the motor down so I shut off tractor immediately. The line comes from power beyond port on the 720 valve, the parts diagram shows a plug so I assumed I could block it. What have I overlooked? The control valve and rotating vane leak pretty good, don t use the hoe much and this was a cheap attempt at slowing down the leaks.

JD 2010 has open center hyd system which requires flow to be continuous via a looped hose & shouldn't be shut off with a valve

Would that machine have a ''stinger'' pump, and where would the reservoir be?

I am familiar with open center but assumed that the open circuit would be in the loader valve, I guess I don t understand how power beyond works. I still had loader function, just loaded down motor when I closed valve. To the other question, it has a Cessna front mount pump, tanks is on left side mounted to fender. Thanks

The reason engine loaded up when valve was closed blocking flow was relief valve was moved off it's seat.
