I having a heck of a time trying to figure out tire size for 1936 BR. I have some 24 spoke wheels, 8 width. The original tire size was 11.25-24, and I want the same diameter tire, to keep the tractor level. What modern size tire am I looking for? I find references that say 11.25-24 became 13-24, but those require a wider rim. Is there a modern size that has same overall height, but fits 8 wide rim?

Treeman,

I'm sorry to say, you will NEVER find the correct rubber. So, I suggest you cut your losses and just sell me the BR cheap.
I promise to love it, and hug it, and kiss it, and feed it every day...

OK, I'm lying. You will get good advice here. Please post a picture if you can. The BR is #1 on my gotta have it list.

I can't post a picture, because I don't have a picture posting site. Wish I could just direct post it from my photo files, like I do on other sites....

If the pictures are on your computer, you can post them here. Here is how I do it.

"If you're not on modern view, switch to it. Then scroll down below the box where you're typing your message. It will say "upload photos/videos", and below that will be a little box that says "Choose Files". Click that. It should take you to where the pictures are on your computer. Find the one you want and double click on it. It should show up beside the little box and say that it is uploading. Wait till it is finished-sometimes takes a couple minutes. It will tell you when it is done. then go back up and click "preview" and see if it is what you want. If it is, click "submit" and you're done!

There are some limits on how large the photo can be--I'm not sure what those are. You can ask down in "Site comments" if necessary. But just try it first. If it works, then no problem."

I'm told that 18th century classic view works the same way, but I never use that.

Hope this helps.

The 24 tires are much easier to find than 26 tires the later BR-BO tracotrs used. I got 12.4x26 for mine last fall so I would say 12.4x24 would be the size needed.

First off, yes, I am aware that it looks like a BO. It has everything BO, but has service brake, rather than BO steering brakes. I can't figure out why it was changed, but it can't be original because everything I researched says that a BO could be ordered as a BR, but not the other way around. Anyway, here it is...

Those sized like that were a round type of tire that used a very narrow rim, the modern size call for a wide base rim and will squese the tire so narrow that the sidewall might not last. that 11.25 tire that became the 13-24 is now a 14.9 x 24 tire. and that call for at least a 12 inch rim but preferably a 13 inch rim. So I dought you could even get one on an 8 inch rim. You might have to put a wider rim on your tractor to get tires to work.
