I've had the head off for some welding and machining, for longer than my memory serves. I have five studs with nuts and lock washers, 1/2 dia. by 1-3/4 long. All cleaned and nuts pre-painted. Two are to attach the lower water pipe but I can't remember what the other three are for.

Part number 11 shows three 1/2 X 2 stud (3 each) to attach the upper water pipe to the radiator. Don't see anything else that uses three.

I didn't take the upper pipe off and could not find that stud anywhere else in the parts catalog. I guess I'll figure it out when I'm putting it back together.

If we are talking about the same part number B 1353 R. The parts book shows two for the water pipe and two for the oil pump cover. That is all I found for that part number and description.

AHA! I always keep parts of various assemblies together (usually in cottage cheese tubs since I eat it every morning) and label them. I
didn't take the oil pump out of the A but I do have an H I've been working on a bit at a time and it's completely apart. H oil pump has three
studs. The parts must have been mixed in after painting.
