Model A cylinder head

Ok so I found a cylinder head for my 44 A today got it home and got the manifold off and valves out. I was cleaning some rust off of it due to it being inside of a barn for who knows how long. I was inspecting the surfaces on it and noticed some rust pitting. I plan on taking it in to a machine shop to be baked and fluxed and have all the work done to it. My concern is the rust pitting. How much can be safely ground off in order to re deck the surface?

Certainly go by the advice of the machinist, HOPEFULLY it will be someone familiar with the old stuff, but likely it doesn't have to be resurfaced to the point ALL evidence of the rust pitting is gone.

A certain amount of the bottom of the pits left should not be an issue.

ok thanks for the info. I was thinking that it would have to be decked all they way down until the pits were gone in order for the gasket to seal. Also the manifold I took off was a gasoline manifold. My tractor is an all fuel tractor. I plan on running gasoline but wasn't sure if there was any befits to using a gas manifold or all fuel manifold?

You might want to check for a couple hundred bucks more
you might be able to get a brand new head on here...I put one
on the b last year since its getting used for mowing a lot and
since it would have cost 200 bucks or more to machine and
clean up I figured the 500 would be a good investment. I know
they were talking about supplying one for an A if the B one
went over well on ASAPs website
