4440 Battery Cable

I have not studied the situation in depth, but can the positive to negative battery cable (the long one) be installed on a 4440 without removing several components? In other words, can you fish it through? Thanks

Yes, you should be able to get the new cable in okay. You could tie a piece of twine or wire to the old one so that you can guide the new one in easier. I have done that on our 4240- a 4440 cab sits up higher, so you should have more room. My 4640 has a lot more space between the cab and transmission housing than the 4240 does. However, the parts book for a 4440 shows a cable clamp that fastens that cross cable, which could slow the job down.

Roll back the floor mat a little bit and take the floor pan out from under the clutch and brake pedals. Then replacing the cable is pretty easy.
