tighten shifter ends on power shift

I was reading somewhere about tightening the worn ends on the power shift rods where they hook to the control box on a 4020 in the Green magazine but I can't find the article, does someone have it on here? The end of my rods are worn and need to be built back up or some type of bushing put in. Thanks again.

I do not have the article, but I have done this on numerous tractors. Depending on how much the shifting arm in worn will determine how I repaired the linkage. In the shifting arm, I have drilled them oversized and pressed a bushing in from McMaster Carr. and maintained the 3/8" linkage size. On my 4020 powershift, I cleaned the hole out and on the linkage I cut the very end off (just the 90 degree portion) and welded on a 7/16" bolt and I drill a new hole for the cotter key. Of course I had a long enough bolt so there were no threads on the new portion on the linkage. I have also used a metric bolt to as I do not want to drill out the shifting arm any more than I need too.
