40S, 420S, 430S Cultivators

I'm trying to clear up some conflicting information I found in my files:

PC288 on page 1 indicates the 4100 cultivator will fit the 40S, 320S, and 420S from 1953-1958.

PC288 also states on page 1 the 4110 is for the 330, 430, 320, and 40 standard tractors manufactured 1958-1960.

Older issues of Two-Cylinder and The Review indicate the 4100 worked with the 40 through the 430 Standard, but the only pictures of 430 standards I've seen have the 4110 mounted.

I recently became interested in this series of tractors and have acquired neither the tractor or cultivators yet, but have found examples of the 40S-420S-430S tractors and 4100 cultivators separately to look at and want to make sure I know what I'm getting into. Will the 4100 work the 430S?

Thanks.
Chris

The only difference between a late 420 and 430 is the sheet metal. So I see no reason why the 4100 unit won't fit on a 430. I bought a 430S several years ago with the 4110
cultivators on it. Was able to remove them and mount them on a 330S by just changing a few brackets around. I know this doesn't quite answer your question but I'm sure the units will
work together.

I suspected the 4100's would fit on a 430, but I guess the lift mechanism was my concern. The set of 4100's I found have lift pipes. The 430's I've seen look like the Touch-o-matic is setup for the cable lift. The few slant steer 420's I've seen appear to have the Touch-o-matic set up for the cable too, while the older 420's and 40's have the lift arms for the pipes.

Am I correct in my interpretation that the slant steer 420 and 430 must have the cable lift? If so, that could make finding all the pieces more difficult if I go that route.

Thanks!
Chris
