Can a Behlen road gear be used in an early (1936) unstyled AR?

I don't know why it couldn't be. I believe (unverified) that the transmission of an AR and A are the same.

From his age tractors they might be, later 50 AR and 51 A speeds are different, have not checked parts book but I do know the AR had a slower 12st gear. Had both at same time. He should check parts books to see if anything is same parts numbers in the A or AR.
