power steering pump- JD-50 tractor

i have a power steering pump off a JD-50 tractor,for a friend,, between the sections of the pump there are no seals,, oring or something to prevent it leaking,, how do you seal this thing??

I would suggest; Permatex Indian Head Gasket Shellac Compound, 2 oz bottle from NAPA for 6.00 to 9.00 dollars. Will seal your clean pump segments..

If they dont have the Indian head in the permatex section the other thing that would work is permatex number 3 formerly called aviation gasket maker. Just be sure to let it sit a full 24 hour day after assembly before adding any liquid.

I used common Bullseye shellac on my 630 ps pump segments. 45 years ago. Still have no leaks. If I remember correctly, the service manual just stated ''shellac''. I didn't know any better, but thankfully it worked.
