Things that make me happy

The first black over spray on a 200$ oem battery box under the handles . The second a battery hold down that wont work with the handle on said 200$ box . But It did have a nice made in the USA stamp on it. I think the Deere employees should go on strike again see if they can get more money

Could be a part made by an outside supplier. I bet Deere buys most of their service parts for the out of production tractor models. I was in Purchasing for over 30 years buying parts for all kinds of equipment.

Deere does not make most of the parts for older models..They market parts from outside companys,, the same ones that we see on line,,so when some one pays extra for Original Deere parts...they are just paying more for after market items..

Is that the cable they come with? Looks like the washer is close to the metal and could touch. They make replacement cables with a pigtail coming out of the clamp where it swedged on that would seem to be safer? Cleddy

With that positive cable that close to the frame, you better have a fire extinguisher nearby.....

Is that a homemade ring terminal?

I would clip or grind off the excess hanging out beyond the nut.
Then lay in a battery length of belting between box and battery.

Actually a longer and taller piece of what is in there now.

Also spread the negative cable and get it on the post. You are only half done with this job, get a new positive cable.

I read somewhere that someone had done a bunch of research on the battery boxes and found one similar or the same as the Deere oem
