I have a 44 A I'm currently putting together. I put the top trans cover and shifter back on today and noticed that it kicks out of high range when shifting into reverse. I'm new to these two cylinders. I take it there is no high range reverse gear? Or is there something put together wrong in the trans?

You are correct, no reverse in the high side.
There is however a pin that if cut off will give you a high reverse. Roughly the same speed as 4th gear.

Thank you for the quick reply. What a relief. I thought somthing was put together wrong somehow

In most cases the regular reverse is almost too fast! Don't really need a faster one!
