Tappet oiler

I've got my 1949 john deere a running and the rockers are ticking. We adjusted them many time and they are where they supposed to. The tappet oil line only have two holes for the outside rockers. How do the 2 inside ones get oiled?

The intake valves get oiled by whatever amount of ''oil mist'' is thrown around in the valvecover.

If the rocker tips are worn they can't be accurately adjusted with a feeler gauge, there's a more accurate with worn parts procedure of taking up all slack, then backing off the adjustment a certain number of ''flats'', but I don't remember the exact details.

Ticking is normal! These engines have a solid cam follower, not one like newer engines, The gap that you are adjusting is for expansion when it warms up. If it weren't for this gap your valves would not fully close when engine warms up. DO NOT drill extra holes in oiler line over intake valves. you won't like the blue smoke coming out of exhaust.
