Model A oil filter body

I am currently in the process of replacing the oil filter body on my 44 A. I'm assuming I should place some rtv sealant around the bottom of the filter body or is there another recommended way of sealing it off?

No need for it. It sticks out the bottom of the crankcase and the filter gasket fits up against it to seal it.

Are you referring to the oil pump body to case or the oil filter canister to pump body? If the
first I'd say get some thin gasket material and make a gasket od the 2nd, no rtv is necessary
if you replace the rubber square o ring in pump body before tightening canister.

(quoted from post at 16:04:30 03/14/23) let me rephrase that, should read filter canister to case
I was referring to the filter housing getting pressed into the case. I ended up using some rtv under the bead of the housing anyway
