I need to replace my radiator. Do I need to take the
steering wheel, exhaust, air intake and hood off to get to
it? I have the small front side panels off but I dont think
that is enough to get to it. I would appreciate suggestions
on how to go about this. Thank you!!

This is a lot of work, not something you and a buddy and a six pack will do on a Sat afternoon. First get parts diagrams of that area so you can see how all parts are assembled, make some copies and have them right there as you work. Hood has to come off, gas tank stays in hood. A few hints: find some thin plywood or double wall corrugated board and cut it to fit over the core area so as to protect from damage from slipped wrench or while handling the radiator assy., when reinstalling, do not over tighten the 2 bolts in the bottom as it is possible to pull the bottom tank and break it., while all this is apart it is a good time to service the clutch assy that the fan rides in. That is about it. I got a 42 B with radiator off and have to replace all of it as top casting is busted as well as the core. When spring gets here that will move up the list. hth

Your post has aged but hopefully you will see this. A big suggestion. At this point of disassembly to do radiator I really recommend that you do a valve rework. Yes, the head comes off but you already have most of the parts that have to come off, off now and with the hood off makes working on cleaning top of block much easier. Reworking the head happens on most of my 2 cyl as it vastly improves ease of starting especially the hand starters. Head service includes all of the following: Install hard seats, new guides if old are sloppy--they have to be tite and round in order to do a good job of hard seat install, check head for cracks and flat, and grind valves or replace if need be. Be sure the shop that does the work has the ability and reputation for doing good work. I know, money is scarce, but this is one of the times when it is a great investment, even if you have to borrow it, just to do this job, now with all the disassembly you already have done. I have done a B head remove with hood on and another with it off and I can tell you, it is almost fun with the hood off. If you got ??, try email I'll try to help George
