60 Steering Problem

One of my buddies has a 60 with power steering. The problem is that it locks up and will not turn at times and when sitting idling, sometimes the wheels will go full lock one way or the other. It is scary to watch him try to load it on his trailer to haul it.

Problems inside the worm gear with the valve operating sleeve and the ramp on the worm gear that activates it can cause lots of issues.

Broken bolts that retain the moveable vane in the steering ''motor'' to the steering ''spindle'' can cause it to jam intermittently.

To repair this reliably the steering unit will need to be taken apart for inspection, IMHO
