Was the inside of a fuel tank factory coated, galvanized, etc.? If so, coated with what? Particularly I'm working with a JD 520.
I wonder if I'm making things worse by removing rust from the original tank (muriatic acid, Evaporust, etc.) Will these treatments
make it rust easier next time?
If so, the only solution would appear to be a coating or tank replacement.
Some tanks - like my Farmall SMTA - appear to be bare metal and squeaky clean with no sign of rust. If that's possible, I'll go
the acid route on the 520 and take better care in the future...
Thanks
James
