I have a 3010 narrow front that I have owned for 30 some years, the steering has always worked very well, but it has leaked oil
from the spindle seal the whole time, not a lot but it leaks.Just wondering how far I have to tear into it to replace the
spindle seal,or do I need to do a complete overhaul? Thanks for any advice.

I am just finishing a 3020. I replaced both bearings and the seal.just what I found, remove the tank , remove the front axle and slide the unit out together with the front cast piece

Might as well haul out the steering motor and replace everything, the bearings, o-rings and seals. The motor is a bear and very heavy but the rebuild is pretty straight forward. Read your tech manual for details.

I'm going to be the odd one out and say just replace the seal above narrow front. As long as it's working leave the rest alone. Just follow how the manual says to do it.

One can reseal steering motor simply by removing , frt axle, one side rail, side plugs & spindle without need to R&R steering motor.
