4430 hyd chatter

4430 powershift with loader has chatter while lifting, even when bucket is empty. Have a power beyond block to install to supply pressure to the loader. I read a previous post by Tim S that said the best way to return the oil from the loader is to a ported bowl cover. If so, does it matter which fiter bowl the oil is returned to? front or rear? THX

Where is your return now? Back to the PBY block? How long since the filters and sump screen were serviced??

Your post is a bit confusing. You have a pby installed now, or are planning on installing it?? How is the loader plumbed right now??

The ''front'' filter is the ''hydraulic filter'', and is where you would want to return function oil which joins the excess flow from the regulating valve body and feeds the main hydraulic pump.

The ''rear'' filter filters pressurized oil coming from the transmission pump, before it goes to the regulating valve body and on the the power shift valve body.

How many hrs of use since hyd filters were changed & suction screen checked/cleaned?

IMHO PBY block if attached on LH side of rockshaft housing returns oil to hyd oil return circuit so it would surprise me if routing return oil to ported hyd filter cover would be much of an advantage over utilizing PBY block on LH side of RS housing.

I'll bet getting both sections of ported filter cover in photo below sealed IE not leaking oil will test one's patience not including the $800 lighter ones wallet will be!!

All filters, and oil, changed 25 hours ago.
I am going to put a cable controlled joystick in the cab and I thought that I had read here that suppling pressure from a power beyound block and returning the oil to a ported filter cover that it would
help the chatter while lifting. Sound like that may not be correct?
thx

Could you please tell us how the loader is plumbed right now??? Near impossible to answer the chattering question without pertinent information.

Is the PYB installed on the SCV with the option to use a single hose hydraulic load? is the valve turned and is venting the loader return oil to the transmission case . Instead to directly to the oil filter?

I don't think the pby block is installed yet. I had a hard time understanding his first post. ....... and have asked twice for details on how it is plumbed now......

Sorry for the confusion everyone. My first post was incomplete anad I apologize. JD 4430 powershift. It has 2 hydraulic filters - front and rear. ALL filters and oil changed 25 hours ago, including the sump screen. Currently the loader is plumber to the remotes. I plan on purchasing a joystick with cables and supply pressure from the power beyond block now installed on the left remote. I read here that I should return the oil to the front hydraulic filter. I HOPE that this improves the chatter. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for your replies - mike

My understanding is returning FEL control valve oil to PBY attached to ""LH side of rockshaft housing"" returns oil to same galley as tractor 3 pt hitch return oil which leads to hyd oil filter.

My advise is to attach FEL control valve return hose to PBY block for test run before attaching return to ported hyd filter cover.

If it chatters now when plugged in to the scv's I am not sure how a new valve plumbed into a pby will change anything.

If the SCV is dialed to single hose float function, the hydraulics will chatter. The oil is being returned to the transmission case .
