I have an old 45 loader on my 620. Today after using it to move some dirt I noticed that oil had been released from the left cylinder relief valve. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and does anyone know where I can get new ones or is it possible to plug that spot. Thanks.
 
Are you referring to the breather in the cylinder (gland) head as a relief valve? If oil is coming out the breather on a single acting cylinder, it needs to be resealed. Oil from the breather would be a sign the piston packing(s) is leaking by. It may not be a major leak currently but likely will not get better on its own. That end of the cylinder needs a breather, don't plug it.

It's not a real big job Bob, but it can be a nasty one. In spite of my best preparations, I always manage to puke a bunch of oil all over the place.

Click on the Equipment publications button. There do a model search for 45. Click on 45 when you see a dropdown list. The loaders should show up on the second page of choices. When I checked the fourth loader choice down is OMC13982 which is the one for tractors of the 620 vintage and hydraulic system.

The parts manual is PC484 which you can view at the JD Parts website. A good hydraulic shop should be able to match the parts if you take the old ones to them.

AC12250 Should be the seal kit you need for around $77. In parts it shows up as AC12250C but you gotta drop the last C.

Been a little while since I did mine but I do remember a couple things I screwed up on. First is make sure you mark everything so it's all oriented the same way it came apart. Second is I remember having trouble installing the rod cap onto the rod. The o-ring inside the cap got cut while sliding it over the roll pin hole in the rod end. If I had to do it over I would find a cut off bolt or some sort of pin to fit perfectly inside the roll pin hole to prevent cutting the o-ring while sliding the cap on. Use grease when re-assembling to help cutting any o-rings or seals.
