Im looking for an alternative part number or a replacement for
M 1167T sleeve for the suction line on my M hydraulic. The
part is unavailable from Deere, Im still having problems with
foaming hydraulic oil and its been narrowed down to an air
leak in one of the joints in the suction line.

M1167T is rubber.

If yours has brass ferrules, perhaps someone who worked on it previously subbed them?

Can you post a photo of what you have?

What is the O.D. of the tube (perhaps 5/8'', 3/4'' or 7/8'')?

Brass ferrules in those sizes should be readily available IF the rubber pieces REALLY will not work for you.

There is obstruction in the line / reservoir. If it is actually sucking air, them it must be a massive leak. Oil should easily fill this line and prevent it from sucking air. At the same time, oil should be dripping out of the line when tractor is parked. I still think that oil cannot easily flow into this line.

If it is tru;y sucking air, then I would pay attention to the input shaft seal on the pump. At the same time if this was bad it would leak oil into the crankcase.

Houston we have a problem! LOL

I pulled out the old paper parts book and did a little studying. The only brass ferrules I found are on the small (outlet) pipe from the dash forward. The big pipe is the inlet (suction) pipe. #AM1167T is a rubber seal for it with a two piece pump. If you have a three piece pump whether it be original or the upgrade #M1040T is the rubber seal it needs. I looked in my spare parts bag to be positive.

There are different dash pipes. Some are flared.

If you could post some pics it would be helpful.

I my problem is in the suction line, My line has metal ferrules on three of the connectors two at the dash connections and one at the pump. I ordered a couple of M2040T rubber bushings but they dont appear to be right for my connections. I dont want to cut those metal ferrules off at this point because it will make the tractor totally unusable. My parts book shows the 1167T on all three connections for the tractor with serial numbers in mines range. I dont know if somewhere along the line the part was changed to rubber by Deere, I tried to order the complete set of three pieces (AM1151T) thats what they said was unavailable, I guess I could try to order those separately but want to be sure of the outside diameter of the pipe they fit.

Does your dash pipe boss have a cutout like this? Mine is a three piece pump. Pipe at pump is 3/4 and the nut od is 1 1/4. It has to be big enough for the rubber sleeve to fit inside. What does your pipe and nut measure?

The parts book is confusing but I think I finally figured it out. The two stars beside the part number point to a reference below which we all missed. The adapter, seal, and nut replaced the original parts. The line itself says with nuts and ferrules. What you need has been discontinued for over 60 years.

I would measure the line, look at the ferrule shape and go to the hardware store or industrial supply house and get new ones.

I will look it over sometime this week to see to OD but I know the pipe is flat on the end, the ferrules sit back and the pipe slides into the connector a bit where they mate up

FWIW, it is not unheard of to have leaks on suction lines that allow air to enter the system causing aeration or even a loss of prime yet not result in an external leak when the system is static. Been stung by that fact a few times in the past on hyd. and fuel systems both.

Not arguing here just putting the information out there to consider.
