530 engine problem

After starting the 530 so many times I needed to charge the battery, I always completely unhook the
battery and hook the charger up as neg ground. I noticed that someone had hooked the battery up as
neg ground, I switched it back to pos ground and started it up---NO SMOKE!
Thanks to everyone who tried to help, I did do all of the things as suggested.
