PTO over running coupler for 730

I'm thinking about getting a pto over running coupler for my JD 730. I use the tractor to mostly mow with a JD 227 Gyramor brush hog. I see many different horsepower sizes and cost ranges available. The tractor has a new pto clutch and brake installed and I am curious if the coupler would help the brake last longer. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, that answers the brake question. I have been looking on-line all morning and see ALOT of different ones so any thoughts are much appreciated........

2 cylinder diesels are known for their ability to find the weak spot in a PTO drive line. I'd advise one rated for quite a bit of HP. Not
sure you can overdo the safety factor here. I'd look for one at least 75 hp, and 125 might be better.

X2

We powered an MC ''600'' grain dryer with either a ''730'' or a ''4020'' depending upon which was available at the time.

We backed the tractor up on bridge planks to keep the driveline rather straight in either case, and several times something broke, always when the ''730'' was in use. Once the end of the countershaft on the dryer that was next to the driven PTO yoke snapped off!

In later years we used the ''4020'' only and put a LOT of hours on the dryer and I don't recall ever having a driveline problem.

Thanks to all for advice, I went to TSC today and it is about $70.00 for one........but it is made in INDIA. If anyone knows of one made in the states please let me know. I bought gauges last year from Steiner and they just turned out to be hole fillers because they look o.k. but good luck on them working, and once again MADE IN INDIA.............

I like this one mainly because of the easy on and off. The India ones that I have seen you have to drive a roll pin through the pto stub shaft to hold them on.

Edit. You'll have to copy and paste the link to see the image. Sorry, not a computer whiz!
