I would like to find another cultivator

Like this one. It is sorta hard to find because it is 6 row 30. Note the truss frame. Lot of them just have the round rods connected to brackets on the main beam. This one is a lil not robust. If anyone has one or knows of one, let me know.

I've only seen one of the newer series 6 row front mounted JD cultivators. It looked like it was from the 1970's but somebody
bought it before I could. I only wanted it to collect it.

What model it that, an AT-6? It looks a lot sturdier that the T-4 we had when I was a kid. Three point hitch cultivators became popular shortly after wide front ends became popular.

Thank you for not calling it a "set of cultivators". It is a, (meaning 1), cultivator attachment. There is only 1 cultivator in the picture, not a set of 2 or more. Must be a regional thing to call 1 cultivator a set. That and "plow lays". Where did that come from???? No plow parts book I have ever seen lists a plow lay. It was a plow share in the Bible. When did that change??

Sorry, feeling a bit snarky today. Carry on. :D

I could have sworn that the 4 row wide cultivator Dad bought right after getting the last bid on the 4010 was
a model 400 cultivator according to the manual. It swung around the frt tires on the WFE, hyd cylinder
raised/lowered the right side, a curved & bent pipe ran from the rear rockshaft about 2-3 inches above the
operator's platform to raise/lower the left side. That pipe was a great tripping hazard if you tried to get
on/off the left side. Wasn't a bad cultivating outfit but the stinking WFE wouldn't turn tight enough to take
the next 4 rows beside the 4 you were on, have to skip 4, and take rows 5 thru 8.
Not sure what all donated parts to the neighbor's 6-30 frt mount cultivator he built to cultivate his 6-30
beans with his 520 tractor. He also had a 4-38 frt mount cultivator for the 520 in case his corn herbicide
didn't work. He built his 6-30 bean planter from two #490 Deere planters and a 10# box of welding rod. Dad
used a 490 he bought brand new spring of '52 to plant everything. I remember him using the check wire
planting corn so he could cross cultivate, always hill dropped 3-4 seeds in every hill. That planter wire
was used to tie hog gates closed before the 1960's. Neighbor always planted the 80 acres we farmed together
with his 494 planter, same hill drop 3-4 seeds in every hill. Corn was always picked, never combined, 38 inch
rows was as narrow as we could go.
