Turbo on 2510?

There is a 2510 listed for sale on
Tractorhouse having a 239T engine.

From comments in this forum, I had
the impression that a turbocharger
wouldn't fit under a 2510 hood.

If someone can do it with a 239,
couldn't it be done with a 202?
Might be a relatively inexpensive
way to increase the horsepower.

If I'm not mistaken, turbo clearance is mostly an issue with the hydraulic SCV valves, and then only if there are 2 scvs.

The 239 is built to handle a turbo (or most are) the 202 was not.

A non turbo 239 is a bolt in..if you want more power. The turbo version will interfere with the select control valves. I'm not saying it can't be done, but will take alot of creative engineering, and relocating the hole in the hood.if it was a 2520, the turbo will fit with a modification to the hood hole.a 2520 with a 239t makes a nice 100 hp chore tractor

Connie has the right answer. A 2510 can have a turbo if it has single hyd's. Remember the first one I ever saw. It was a powershift and did it ever run great. Dyno showed over 100 hp. Tom

All good comments. The last 2510 I turbo-ed was a power shift with 276T. More engine than the new / fresh rebuilt PS transmission would take as it would slip in 7Th and 8th gear. Doing another right now in a 2520 synchro and it will dyno at 95 -100 PTO hp when done.

Wow, that 2520 will be neat , you will have to post pictures when done. Ive got a buddy putting a 4045 powertec turbo in a 2520 gas synchro.
