630 John Deere top link leak

Just wondering if I could disassemble The tip link connection to my 630 and replace the hydraulic oil leak where there what appears to be 2 plastic or nylon washers, or do I have to remove the battery box hydraulic cover top, cut a new gasket and go very slow to get the the top link area?

Thanks

If the shaft the top link is attached to is leaking, you'll need to remove the seat, the battery box and the top cover, then remove most of the components inside the hydraulic reservoir area. The seal that is leaking must be removed and replaced from the inside. Suggest you get a manual, lot of work for a $10 seal.

Was afraid of that. I had a big puddle of oil on the floor after using the 3 point this year. Not what I wanted to tackle, but might as well since I have rebuilt everything except the gasket under the pedestal for the shifter.

I would suggest the I&T Manual NO-JD16 for your JD 630 tractor.. Has good information that you need and special tool to make.. Labor intense, need to unhook the dash pot valve and piston inside, take off dash-pot yoke.. Remove cover- F2879R -on left side of rocker shaft housing and pull yoke shaft F2899R out .. The seal your changing is on the outside of the housing on the left side of the center link yoke A5616R..
