So- not having a fuel tank at home, I'm filling up 5 gallons at a time. What method do you guys use for filling up your tank? Being a 3020 and quite high, I have to climb up on the front tire. Anybody have a step installed to make this easier? I think I need a tank next to the driveway.

55 gallon drum and a 12V DC powered fuel pump/nozzle from Northern tool.

drum is stored on a dolly made just for it in the shop, and tractor is used with a choker strap to lift it in/out the back of the truck to go buy fuel.

if you're buying fuel at a regular fuel station, save your receipts so that you can possibly be reimbursed for the sales tax by the state as it's off-road/ag use.

You could also use an IBC tote, but you run the rise of getting caught because over 119gallon's necessitate a CDL with tanker endorsement.

I put a step on frame of my IH 560. It was actually step for rear of JD 60 I think but hellps when fueling with 5 gallon cans

For gas I have a 50 gallon tank with pump.
For diesel I have a 300 gallon barrel on
stand. On my 2510 I have these steps
installed. It's easy to step from the 2nd
step to the axle. My 4430 has this extra
fueling step added. It also helps. I have
heard these fuel cans are nice. Just set
them on the hood and the nozzle is right at
the bottom. Never used them personally.

Got a picture? I just got a 560, why does it seem like the IH forum is kinda cranky?

My wife doesn't like Harbor Freight but got me two of their cans- they have a handle on the top, and on the back, so it makes holding it at a tilt a lot easier. Has one of those slide-type nozzles that shut off if you lift it up/let it retract

If you haul fuel home in a pickup bed, leave the fuel cans in the pickup bed, back the pickup to the tractor and then stand on either the tailgate or the pickup bed to fill the tractor. Much less height to lift the fuel cans that way and easier to control.
