JD 620 3-PT problems

Our 620 has not used the 3-pt for MANY years. The operating lever on right-side of seat (hydraulic levers on outside) will NOT budge! What should I try, or am doing wrong.

Thanks.

I would separate the arm and linkage to the lever to see if the lever is stuck in the pivot or the arm going into the case is stuck.

I haven't been into the hydraulic manual in a long time, but I think that I remember an adjustment accessible on the left side that controls the ''stiffness'' of the three-point lever movement. I have a 620 and a 630. I have to bump the 620 lever pretty hard if I haven't used it for awhile.

The main top lever is free, the pump-short-lever is stuck tight. There is no adjustment I can see, outside of the knob to control the travel distance.

I'm going to remove the main lever from pump-lever, and see if I can "LIGHTLY" pressure it to move.

THANKS all!

I think the adjustment is under a cover
on the left side. I'll check my manual
this evening.

UPDATE:

The smaller/flat pump-lever wiggles back and forth 1/8", but hits a DEAD-Stop either direction. I can manually raise the rock-shaft arms easy-as-butter, except for the normal lower spring tension.

I'm definitely missing something in the process.

I photographed the section of the manual that tells about the friction adjustment, but I can't get the picture to download. I'll type the text for you and if you want, I'll bring the manual in tomorrow and scan the page for you. Here's the text;

CONTROL LEVER FRICTION BRAKE
The control lever is held at selected positions by a friction brake on the control shaft in the rockshaft housing. The brake should be adjusted so that a force of 12-15 lbs. applied at the end of the lever is required to move the lever. To adjust the brake, remove the plug, exposing a self-locking nut on the 520, 620 and 720 or a cap screw on the 530, 630 and 730. Turn the nut or cap screw either way as required to obtain the specified force to move the lever.

[The plug that they mention is on the upper left side of the rockshaft housing, about a half inch below the joint where the top plate is bolted on. It is almost directly above the Pioneer hydraulic couplers. It looks like a large pipe plug, with a square head. The plug is pictured in the manual, and I can scan it for you tomorrow, if needed.]

WOW!!! This is EXACTLY what mine feels like: Stuck in a cog!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

FINALLY!!! Took the cover/bolt off, loosen the nut (to no pressure), grabbed the lever, bumped it once to free it, and BINGO!!!! I have a working 3-PT!!!

THANK YOU sooooooo much for the advice!!!!!!!
