3010 diesel won't start

The batteries are down on my 3010 so I tried to pull start it today. Had my wife pulling it while I drove the tractor. Pulled it for a mile or more. It refused to pop off. I cracked some fuel lines and had fuel both into and out of the fuel pump. It ran fine the last time I used it about four months ago. Since then it has been in a shed, out of the rain and sun but an open shed. I'm at a loss.

Is the arm the shut off cable is hooked to pushed ahead all of the way. Do you mean lift pump or injection pump that you had fuel at. Did you get fuel to come out at the injection pump while working the lever on the lift pump?

While trying to get it to start I had it in 7th gear. The fuel shut off on the injection pump was all the way forward and fuel would come out when I loosened the lines going both into and out of the injection pump. While pulling the tractor, the engine was turning over well enough that it almost sounded like it was running but no smoke out of the exhaust.

It's possible metering valve in pump is stuck. If it was my tractor I'd remove fuel filter then fill it with auto trans oil then reinstall filter & attempt to tow start again.
