520 hydraulic pressure

Hello gentlemen,

I have a 1956 JD 520. What is the max hydraulic pressure for this tractor ? I did not see anything in the operators manual but may have overlooked something.

I want to use this tractor to test the cylinder on a log splitter. Cylinder is 4 diameter and has a working rating of 2000 psi max. Hoses are new, 3500 psi rated.

According to the hydraulic service manual the relief valve opens at 1230-1300PSI

According to the Custom Power-trol Service Manual, the relief valve in the single remote cylinder valve housing should open at 1230 to 1300 psi.

This is from Section 20, Group 5, Page 9 of SM 2022.

Should probably check the relief pressure . They can change over time .
